SUMMARY:Smart Telescopes: A New Way to Explore the Night Sky
DESCRIPTION:Discover how a new generation of compact\, computerized “smart telescopes” is making astronomy and astrophotography more accessible than ever as we explore the new technology at the Neenah Public Library on October 22\, 2026\, at 6:30 pm. \nThese instruments can automatically locate\, track\, and photograph galaxies\, nebulae\, star clusters\, and other celestial objects\, even from light-polluted locations. \nRick Beal\, a member of the Northeast Wisconsin Stargazers (NEWSTAR)\, will explain how smart telescopes work\, demonstrate the kinds of images they can produce\, and discuss their advantages and limitations. The presentation is intended for anyone interested in astronomy\, from curious beginners to experienced amateur astronomers. \nWe hope to venture outside at the end of the program for a hands-on opportunity with smart telescopes. \nPlease contact Mehta if you have questions at hess@neenahlibrary.org or 920-886-6315. \nThis program was made possible by the Friends of the Neenah Library and the Neenah Public Library Trust Fund. Donations to the Friends and the Trust Fund are always accepted and appreciated. \nEveryone is welcome. If accommodations are needed to attend\, please contact the library administrative office at 920-886-6315 or by email at library@neenahlibrary.org at least 24 hours in advance of the program.

SUMMARY:Cool Table Trivia at McFleshman's
DESCRIPTION:Get ready to experience the Fox Valley’s newest & best trivia game. Join us at McFleshman’s Brewing Company for a fun and modestly challenging night of questions and prizes! \nOur trivia game isn’t the “high-octane\, in-your-face\, shouting-out-answers” show that other companies have. Nor are we a “graded-by-the-competition” game. \nCoolTable Trivia is a relaxed\, seated-with-your-friends\, type-in-answers trivia game for folks who would like to play trivia\, but also socialize with their friends\, and nothing too crazy because we all have to get up in the morning. \nMore information at www.cooltabletrivia.com

SUMMARY:Stone Arch Sessions: Spencer LaJoye
DESCRIPTION:Doors 5pm – Music 7pm – $15-$20 Suggested Donation\n–\nSpencer LaJoye is making queer indie folk music for everyone. They are a coast-to-coast singer/songwriter and vocal loop artist with Midwest roots\, a classically-trained violinist with an inner theater kid’s love of group choreography\, and a student of Americana music with a theology degree hanging in their studio. The 2021 Kerrville Songwriting Competition winner and 2024 Songwriter Serenade winner has been writing and touring their autobiographical folk songs for over a decade\, but their viral 2021 anthem “Plowshare Prayer” secured them a permanent place in hearts and households across the world\, as well as a peculiar career as a veracious songsmith with an unshakeable pastoral presence. Charming and banter-heavy\, Spencer’s performances keep audiences laughing one moment and weeping the next.

SUMMARY:Stone Arch Point of Jazz Jam ft. Chris Dyble
DESCRIPTION:Doors 5pm – Featured Artist 7:30pm – Open Jam 8:30pm\n$5-$10 Suggested donation.\nThe Point of Jazz is a jazz collective led by graduates of the music department at University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. This week the house band consists of Kadin Yach (p) Jessie Crandall (b) and Ryan Thomas (d). Every Thursday the group plays at Stone Arch Brewpub in Appleton Wisconsin from 7:30-9:30PM. They play a one hour set featuring that week’s guest artist\, then open the floor for community members to join in on their respective instruments. This week‘s featured artist is the Christian Dyble\nChris is a Wisconsin-born jazz and improvisational musician. A multi-instrumentalist\, vocalist\, composer\, and educator\, he’s often known on stage as “Papa Nubs\,” a name that comes from his life as a one-handed musician. \nHis musical influences reflect a modern artist shaped by the vast\, ever-growing catalogs of the Information Age. From an early age\, Chris was captivated by the sheer range of music available to him. Music spanning the centuries of old and the times of new all just a click away. \nWhile he finds inspiration in many styles\, he found a true sense of freedom in jazz\, the deeply rooted American art form. It’s within this space that he brings together his wide range of influences\, using improvisation as a way to express something personal\, fluid\, and ever evolving.
