But it was the summer after her first year in college singing as a “Heidel Honey” at the Heidel House Resort in Green Lake\, Wisconsin where Ms. Sutton claims to have first discovered jazz. \nTierney has toured throughout the world and headlined at Carnegie Hall\, The Hollywood Bowl\, and Jazz at Lincoln Center.

SUMMARY:Appleton Historical Society: History of ThedaStar
DESCRIPTION:Discover the fascinating history of Appleton with the Appleton Historical Society and Appleton Public Library! Join us for engaging\, monthly presentations where history comes alive – every 2nd Wednesday at 6:30 pm (no December meeting). Each session features a different speaker and topic\, all dedicated to celebrating and exploring Appleton’s rich past. Best of all\, it’s completely free and open to everyone – no membership required! Learn more about Appleton Historical Society at https://www.appletonhistory.com/. \nThis month’s presentation: History of ThedaStar \nIn 2026\, ThedaStar will celebrate 40 years of service. Join Jon Hagen\, RN\, who was a flight nurse there from 1994 – 2008\, as he recounts the program’s history from the first flight in 1986 until today. He will use a PowerPoint presentation to document key happenings\, not only for ThedaStar\, but the Trauma Program at ThedaCare – Neenah (formerly Theda Clark Regional Medical Center). \nJon Hagen was 18 years old when he was hired by Gold Cross Ambulance in June 1977. He was an Emergency Medical Technician and had worked part-time at Holly Ambulance in Waupaca\, WI\, his hometown. Jon received paramedic training and earned his paramedic license. He worked at Gold Cross during the “paramedic issue.” \nIn 1991\, he became a registered nurse and began working in the Intensive Care Unit at Appleton Memorial Hospital. In December 1994\, he was hired by ThedaStar Air Medical as a flight nurse until April 2008 when he joined the crew of Flight For Life. In 1996 he founded ThedaStar’s newsletter ThedaStar Dispatch. One of his articles\, “Just a Kiss\,” was published in Air Medical Journal and in A Legacy of Caring (published by the Air & Service Transport Nurses Association). \nIn 2002\, he was awarded a Nightingale Award by the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. In 2017\, he was recognized as a “Star of Life” by the Professional Ambulance Association of Wisconsin. He retired from flight nursing that July. \nJon has authored two books: Coroner Calls – which documents more than a decade of cases he investigated as a deputy coroner – and Appleton’s EMS Evolution\, which discusses the development of emergency medical services in Appleton. \nJon and his wife\, Pam\, are enjoying retirement together. They have two daughters\, two-sons-in-law\, and three awesome granddaughters. Like most people working in emergency medical services\, Jon achieved many certifications and licensures over the years but he’ll spare you the “alphabet soup.”

SUMMARY:Stone Arch Sessions: Alice Wallace
DESCRIPTION:Doors 5pm – Music 7pm – $10 Suggested Donation\n–\nDoors 5pm – Music 7pm – $10-There’s a reason she’s been called “one of the best singers out there at the moment” by SavingCountry Music. Nashville Americana artist Alice Wallace does not hide behind the microphone but uses it to amplify everything inside her champing to get out.\nWallace moved to Nashville six years ago after more than a decade in southern California\, andreleased her first Nashville-produced solo record Here I Am in June 2024 to wide praise. It’s atitle that hints at her deeply personal\, confessional songwriting style\, one that invites the listener to gaze at her beating heart as each intimate secret pours out\, propelled by a powerful\, expressive delivery that marks her as one of the true vocal talents of her generation. Wallace grew up in a musical family\, where voices like Linda Ronstadt\, Emmylou Harris andDolly Parton were on heavy rotation on the family turntable and were huge influences on her asa budding singer and songwriter. Nowadays\, Wallace tours full-time\, bringing her personal songs and soaring vocals to venues across the country. She’s also one of the few modern singer/songwriters keeping the art of the country yodel alive.\nWallace was named 2017 Female Vocalist of the Year by the California Country Awards\, and previously released four solo albums. 2019’s Into the Blue\, earned recognition from RollingStone Country with the title track being named one of the Best Americana Songs to Hear Now.This was followed by Lucky Break via Side Pony\, a duo project with friend Caitlin Cannon thattook the pair across the United States and Europe.\nCuttingly self-exploring\, delivered with emotionality\, and with just the right pop Americana sensibilities\, Here I Am is Alice Wallace’s most expansive album yet. For fans of songwriters who turn personal heartbreak into musical gold and for anyone who loves a powerful\, full-ranged\, expressive voice\, Here I Am is not to be missed.
