SUMMARY:Sunday Concert Series: The Driftless Plowboys
DESCRIPTION:Step back in time with The Driftless Plowboys! On Sunday\, October 11\, 2026\, at 2:00 p.m.\, the Neenah Public Library welcomes this unique quartet for an afternoon of vintage music\, blending the sounds of early hillbilly\, Hawaiian steel guitar\, jazz\, Western swing\, and classic country. \nThe Driftless Plowboys draw inspiration from the 1920s and ’30s\, when Hawaiian music was sweeping the country and musicians began adding the exotic\, sliding sound of steel guitar to hillbilly string bands and blues. Their repertoire brings that distinctive sound to life while incorporating the jazz of Django Reinhardt\, the Western swing of Bob Wills\, and country favorites from the 1940s and ’50s. \nWith an ear-catching mix of heart\, humor\, and rootsy charm\, The Driftless Plowboys offer a fresh take on some of America’s earliest popular music. Whether you’re a longtime fan of traditional country and Western swing or simply looking for something a little different\, this lively performance is sure to delight. \nThe hour-long concert will take place in the Shattuck Community Room. All interested individuals are welcome to attend this free event. If accommodations are needed to attend\, please contact the library at least 24 hours in advance of the program. \nFor more information\, please contact the Reference Desk by phone: 920-886-6315\, e-mail: library@neenahlibrary.org\, or visit our website\, www.neenahlibrary.org. \nThe Friends of the Neenah Public Library and the Neenah Public Library Trust Fund present the Concert Series.
