Pages in the Park

August 7

This self-led story walk in the woods features pages from a delightful picture book by Keiko Kasza along the stroller-friendly path to read as you enjoy nature. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner. Sponsored by the Kimberly-Little Chute Public Library and the Little Chute Park and Rec Department. 5-7pm. Heesakker Park, Little Chute. 788-7825.

Get Up & Go: Appleton and the Great War Cemetery Tour

August 8 

This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the last year of World War I. Join the History Museum at the Castle and walk the historic grounds of Riverside and St. Joseph’s Cemeteries, and remember the courage and ultimate sacrifice of Appleton’s Company A – 150th Machine Gun Battalion, during The Great War. 6-7:30pm. Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. 735-9370. 

Campfire and Night Hike

August 11

Begin the evening by roasting hot dogs or marshmallows around the campfire followed by a guided hike after the sun sets. Suitable for families and adults. BYO food. Campfire and roasting sticks provided. 8-9:30pm. 1000 Islands Environmental Center, Kaukauna. 766-4733.
