Sample a variety of street food-inspired hors d’oeuvres at Fox Valley Technical College’s annual Cultural Cuisine event on Sunday, February 25. The event, which runs from 3-6 p.m. at FVTC’s Appleton Campus, is a fundraiser for the college’s scholarship endowment fund.

This year’s event will focus on street food favorites from cities around the world – think Mexican tacos, empanadas and hand-rolled ice cream. Chef Jeff Igel, chair of the FVTC Culinary Arts and Hospitality department, says the street food trend is hot in the culinary world so this event is a must for local foodies to attend.

Guests are invited to stroll through endless hors d’oeuvre buffets and refresh their palates with spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition to food and drink sampling, a silent auction will be held in the Jones Dairy Farm Culinary Theatre.

The event is executed through the combined efforts of more than 100 FVTC Culinary Arts and Hotel & Restaurant Management students and faculty, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Restaurant Association-Big Four Chapter, the Fox Valley Culinary Association and the Fox Cities Lodging & Hospitality Association.

Tickets can be purchased at the door, in advance at the FVTC branch of Community First Credit Union or at www.fvtc.edu/culturalcuisine.
