Meet Katie Stuhmer

The Basics:

Name: Katie Stuhmer

Age: 22

Hometown: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

University attended: UW-Oshkosh. Graduated last May with a B.A in English, Creative Writing.

Favorite thing about the Fox Cities: Life on the water—wakeboarding, kayaking, fishing.

The Dirt:

What is your favorite quote? “Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day, saying: I will try again tomorrow.” —Mary Anne Radmacher

Favorite Book? The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls (Be careful reading this book in public, I couldn’t stop laughing and got some weird stares.)

Biggest Guilty Pleasure? My boyband playlist on Pandora. (C’mon, I’m a 90’s kid!)

Most played song on your ipod? Beyonce was recently passed up by 21 Pilot’s “The Run and Go.”

If you could have any super power, what would it be? Fly

If you could be any fictional character, who would it be? Percy Jackson, how awesome would it be to have an Olympian God/Goddess for your parent? Imagine the holidays.

If you could meet anyone living, or dead, who would it be? (Pre-jumpsuit, scarf throwing) Elvis Presely

What do you hope to do after this internship? Move down south and write for outdoors magazines, establish myself as an author, and someday own a surf/art shop.

What’s your dream job? Write for National Geographic or Transworld.

Write your memoir in six words: Wrong Place, Wrong Time, Wrong Answer.

At what age did you consider yourself an adult? This past year. I’ve always worked like an adult, but I’ll always play like a kid.

Hidden Talents: I’m way too double jointed for my own good, everything always popping out of its socket.

Once interesting fact: I’ve surfed with dolphins and paddleboarded with alligators.
