What’s Going On? Weekend Preview Oct. 25-27

It seems safe to refer to the weather as brisk, these days. It certainly is a term that describes the pace of fall activities in Northeast Wisconsin. There is always something to do.

We may not be slowing, but some activities will be coming to an end this weekend. Many of the farmers markets, from Green Bay to Appleton to Oshkosh, will be celebrating their last outdoor weekend. With Halloween just around the corner, many will be incorporating a trick-or-treat theme.

While it may be the end of the season outdoors, many of the farmers markets continue to operate indoors for the winter. The Appleton Downtown Farmers Marketmoves into City Center Plaza starting Nov. 2. The Oshkosh Saturday Farmers Market moves into Washington Hall the same day.

Both will provide plenty of rewards for early morning risers on Saturdays throughout the winter months.

The weekend calendar is packed with events to suit a wide variety of interests. A multitude of Halloween related events fill the schedule, from family-friendly events at the NEW Zoo and Heritage Hill to the scare your socks off haunted houses that dot the landscape across Northeast Wisconsin.

If you are looking for laughter rather than screams, Lily Tomlin makes an appearance at the Capitol Civic Center in Manitowoc. That show is at 7:30 on Saturday evening.

A wide range of musical performances and community events round out the calendar this weekend.

Of course, the Packers head to the Metrodome on Sunday afternoon. An occasional house of horrors in the past, it looks like a pleasant afternoon for the Green and Gold this year.

Enjoy!
