Memory Cafes at Neenah Public Library

Memory Cafes, a program of the Fox Valley Memory Project, are for those experiencing dementia, mild memory loss or cognitive impairment and for family and friends of those affected.

Last September, we featured an article (seen here) on the Fox Valley Memory Project.  Beginning in March, the initiative will be kicking off a component of their overall plan, Memory Cafes, at the Neenah Public Library.

Memory Cafes are for those experiencing dementia, mild memory loss or cognitive impairment and for family and friends of those affected. It’s an opportunity for lively discussions, information gathering, refreshments, camaraderie, and creativity. A gerontology professional will be on hand to answer questions. (Please note: If assistance is needed to participate, please bring someone with you to help.)

The Cafes will be held on the third Mondays of each month, beginning March 18, 2013, from 1:30-3:30p.m., in the Shattuck Community Room at the Library.

Memory Cafes are a program of the Fox Valley Memory Project and are funded by a grant from the Basic Needs Giving Partnership Fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, supported by the U.S. Venture Fund for Basic Needs, J.J. Keller Foundation and other community partners, Helen Bader Foundation, Rotary Club of Appleton. Memory Cafes hosted at the Neenah Public Library are sponsored by the Fox Valley Memory Project, Valley VNA and the Neenah Public Library.

Cafe are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
