A Very Small Consortium

This innovative ensemble consisting of UWGB music faculty and friends performs “miniature morsels of music” that either consist of 100 or fewer or last one minute or less. The eclectic repertoire for this concert will be drawn from pieces submitted to our yearly international call for scores.

Duets at Weidner Center

Inspired by a concept popularized by Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, saxophonist John Salerno and soprano Courtney Sherman will host an evening of duets with an array of duet partners. The program will feature “I Never Saw Another Butterfly,” a dramatic composition by Lori Laitman.

Percussion: Classical to Contemporary

Percussionist Bill Sallak will perform solo and chamber music featuring the marimba, from Bach to the present day. Works by Bach, Osvaldo Golijov, Minoru Miki, and Dan Moore, as well as traditional music from northern Ghana and Burkina Faso.
