Lawrence University Artist Series: Roomful of Teeth

The Grammy Award-winning vocal project Roomful of Teeth mines the expressive potential of the human voice. The New York Times describes their distinct style as “voices and percussion meshed to a colorful effect…[a] blend of stylistic influences including reggae, hip hop and rock.” The classically trained ensemble draws on techniques and genres as disparate as yodeling and Tuvan throat singing and works closely with contemporary composers in creating an ecstatic, entirely commissioned repertoire.
