Before Shona Prickette, Prospera Credit Union’s director of internal operations, puts on her dancing shoes, she needs the community’s help in raising money for sexual assault victims through her passion of art. From now through Sept. 30, participants can buy an entry into the Community Coloring Contest for $5 to benefit the center. The Pro Arte String Quartet will open the 2017 Searl Pickett Chamber Music Series at Church of Our Savior (at the intersection of 9th and Main Street) on Friday, Sept. 22. One of the world’s finest string quartets, the Pro Arte was organized in Belgium in 1911 and has been in residence at UW-Madison since 1938. Paper Crafting Workshop: Paper Wreath

Create a wreath of paper leaves to decorate your home for fall. We’ll provide a range of autumn colors to choose from and everything else you will need. $15 per person. Preregistration is required. Materials and supplies are provided; however, please bring a hot glue gun if you have one. This workshop is designed for adults, or children 13 and over with an accompanying adult. Messy Monday

The next Messy Monday will be on October 2 at 10:30 a.m. Old clothes or a smock are recommended. Projects will vary; the focus is on the process not the product.
