Set in 19^th century Germany, Spring Awakening follows the coming of age of teenagers who are discovering the inner and outer tumult of sexuality. A rock musical based on the German play of the same name, Spring Awakening concerns the difficult road to emotional and physical maturity amongst a great sexual and cultural revolution. Making its debut in 2006, Spring Awakening went on to win 8 Tony awards including Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Score. Rating: R
