This exhibit will consist of a selection of modern art prints taken from the highly extensive collection of the late Mark and Helen Hooper. Together, they built an impressive and comprehensive collection of original prints through a series of European travels that encompass various genres, movements and printing processes. The Hoopers were actively collecting at a highly experimental time in the print world, and many influential artists are represented, including Pablo Picasso, Karel Appel, Stanley William Hayter and Marc Chagall among others. In addition to being collectors, the Hoopers were also essential supporters of the arts community here in Manitowoc.
