An interactive session examines strategies that targets of microaggressions, stereotypes and “isms” can use to respond to bias in ways that are self-affirming and empowering. Social science research will be referenced to inform participants’ understanding of concepts related to microaggressions and stereotypes. Participants also will engage in case study and role play to practice powerful ways to respond in these situations. Free and open to the public, although advance registration would be appreciated by contacting [email protected].
