A new event at the Oshkosh Public Library will offer a haunting after-hours tour through the tales of Edgar Allan Poe.

Dark Stacks: An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe is a free event is for teens and adults only and registration is required.

Considered a master of the macabre, Poe penned tales that serve as an eerie framework for the Dark Stacks event. As participants tour through the darkened library, they will see scenes fromsome of Poe’s greatest stories come to life and experience a taste of the terror and tragedy that marks so much of his work.

On the tour, participants will meet the beautiful Annabel Lee, confront the Red Death at Prince Prospero’s masquerade ball and witness Fortunato’s misfortune at the hands of the vengeful
Montresor. Featured stories will include The Black Cat, The Oval Portrait, Annabel Lee, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Cask of Amontillado and Masque of the Red Death.

Registration is now open for Dark Stacks at www.oshkoshpubliclibrary.org. Tours of four to six people will depart from the library’s main lobby every 15 minutes. Walk-ins will be taken during
open time slots on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who cannot make a reservation online should call Sandy at 236-5206.
