People, Places and Things: 11th Annual Photo Contest
Honorable Mention
“Asylum Point Lighthouse”
Pat Williquette, Neenah
The nooks and crannies of the Fox Cities are great photograph fodder. One such place is Asylum Point Park in Oshkosh. “Asylum Point is such a cool spot, but you rarely see it photographed,” said Palmer, who loved how this image captured the lighthouse within the park. Pat Williquette had photographed the park before, but a light blanket of snow that had fallen the night before caused her to see it in a new way. “I was struck by how beautiful and peaceful it was,” Williquette says, “my footprints in the snow on the foot bridge and the piece of blue trying to break through the clouds. You don’t have to go far to find little hidden gems like this.”
