Need to get away from it all? Head to the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan tomorrow, Saturday, October 1 for an artful escape from reality. The event is meant to feel like a mini-vacation, allowing guests to abscond the pressures of 21st-century living through new exhibitions, live music, musings, food, libations and more.

Guests can preview the new exhibition series “Escape Routes” and meet two of the exhibiting artists, Ethan Murrow and Cole Caswell. The group exhibition (Oct 2–Jan 15) takes visitors along various routes the artists have chosen as their means of eluding the pressures and anxieties of our non-stop, modern society.

An art heist-themed escape room adds an interactive element to the evening, as do immersive virtual reality environments. Guests will also learn how to create a DIY virtual reality viewer. Milwaukee indie rockers, Space Raft, will provide live music. Complimentary appetizers and libations at the cash bar will be available. The event runs from 7:30-10:30 p.m. For ticket information, call 920-458-6144 or visit jmkac.org.
