What’s Going On? An Octoberfest Weekend Preview

The temperatures have moderated and the days are gradually getting shorter. We see all the signs that winter will be here soon. So what do we do? We throw a huge block party to celebrate fall and clutch to the remaining days we can spend the time outdoors.
That’s right, it’s Appleton’s Octoberfest weekend.

The weekend kicks off Friday afternoon with License to Cruise. Whether your are a diehard car fan, or just a casual observer, it’s pretty cool to see the nearly 400 classic cars lined up along College Avenue. The event kicks off at 6pm.

Saturday is the big day, when thousands will congregate along College Avenue for food, music, arts & crafts and a good time. There are designated family fun areas and five performance stages to suit your tastes.

Not planning to hit the big show? The Paine Art Center & Gardens is hosting a Venetians & Vivaldievent to celebrate it’s Chihuly Venetians exhibition in the mansion. See Chihuly’s work, sample Italian cuisine and listen to the sournds of Venetian-born composer Antonio Lucio Vivaldi.

Remember, there is no Packer game this weekend, so if you are looking for events to fill your weekend, refer to our constantly updated calendar of events for the latest happenings in the Fox Cities.

Have fun and enjoy the weekend!
